Perennial Garden Maintenance at WFCF

Waltham Fields Community Farm

Description

In the center of the farm fields at Waltham Fields Community Farm is a strip of land with a cherry tree, raspberry bushes, pollinator plantings, and a perennial garden (PG). Perennials are plants that come back on their own each year and don't need to be planted annually. This area is full of herbs, flowers, and berries.

Volunteers, with oversite from the PG coordinators, help to keep it looking lovely and productive! No experience necessary. This is also a great opportunity to learn and/or share your knowledge about the medicinal and edible qualities of these plants. Work may include using a wheelbarrow, spreading mulch, weeding, pruning, digging and replanting, and special projects as needed.

There is ongoing need spring-autumn for occasional help, so filling out this brief survey helps to coordinate times that could work for your schedule: https://forms.gle/YUy1ABY5rdrmLCBV9
