High School Tutoring & Mentoring in Cambridge

Cambridge School Volunteers

Description

Looking for a meaningful way to give back right here in Cambridge? Join Cambridge School Volunteers (CSV) at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS) to support students in grades 9-12 as a tutor, mentor, or classroom collaborator. Just 30–90 minutes a week can change a student’s future.

Tutors: Work one-to-one with a student to help them build confidence and skills in a subject area—especially in STEM—before school (8:00-8:30 a.m.), during school (8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.), or after school (3:15-4:15 p.m.).

College/Career Mentors: Guide juniors and seniors through college essay writing, SAT prep, scholarship selection and application, and college/career planning. Sessions are held weekly on Wednesdays after school (3:15-4:15 p.m.).

Classroom Collaborators: Work alongside teachers during the school day, supporting small groups and individual students.

Current urgent needs (as of DEC 2025): the waitlist grows daily! Math (all subjects and levels, most requests in Algebra 1, Alegebra 2, & Geometry) and Science (all subjects, most requests in Chemistry and Physics)

No teaching experience needed—just patience, encouragement, and a commitment to helping students feel seen, supported, and successful.
