Description
Looking to make a difference in Cambridge public elementary schools? Become a Classroom Collaborator with Cambridge School Volunteers (CSV) and support students in small groups or one-to-one during the school day.
Classroom Collaborators help children stay on task, build skills, and grow in confidence. Volunteers may also assist with special subjects like Art or Library, and many become an integral part of the classroom community year after year.
Focus Areas
- Math: Help students explore math through puzzles, patterns, and hands-on activities. You don’t need to be a “math expert”—just patient, flexible, and ready to support different ways of problem-solving.
- Literacy: Work with students during Reader’s or Writer’s Workshop to strengthen reading and writing skills. Training is provided in early literacy support.
Why volunteer?
Just an hour a week can spark curiosity, build confidence, and help young learners thrive, while helping them feel seen, supported, and successful.
