Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts, Inc. is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that helps families create a home as they transition from homeless and domestic violence shelters into stable housing. We provide essential furniture, household goods, and moving and set-up services—at no cost—to ensure families can move into safe, comfortable, and nurturing homes. We rely on donations of new and gently used home goods from our community to include in our kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom “Starter Sets,” which feature items such as dinnerware, towels, washcloths, and bedding to help families with their new start. Beyond meeting basic needs, our work helps restore stability, dignity, and hope for families during a critical transition.

Volunteer activities have included:

• Sorting/organizing donations or inventory

• Putting together starter sets

• Hosting donation drives (hybrid)

• Graphics/web design support (remote)

• Social media management (remote)
