Meet Patrick Magee

Former owner and operator of Atwood’s Tavern, a beloved East Cambridge hub, Patrick has been a staple in the neighborhood for decades. In 2011, he co-founded East Cambridge Business Association, where he now leads the Board. His commitment to community is deep-rooted: growing up, volunteering was the norm. A generous believer in what he calls “enlightened self-interest,” Patrick is sure that “if you care about your neighbors, they’ll care about you.” ECBA’s E.D., Jason Alves, recognizes that “Patrick’s commitment enables an organization as lean as ours to benefit the whole community, not just businesses.”

After Jack moved to Cambridge he caught the volunteer bug and discovered the fun of volunteering for ECBA’s annual street festivals. “What keeps drawing me to volunteer for ECBA is Jason's genuine commitment to local businesses and nonprofits. These events bring the community together in ways none of us could accomplish individually."
