Jericho Circle

Healing Circle Volunteers

Jericho Circle

Description

Jericho Circle reduces violence, crime and recidivism by supporting emotional healing for incarcerated individuals. They seek volunteers to participate in personal growth "healing circles" for men and women inside of prisons (with options outside of prisons for healing circles with returning citizens).

Volunteers receive training from Jericho Circle, plus an additional volunteer orientation with the Department of Corrections. Jericho trains volunteers in their history, their work and how they do it. They teach necessary skills and allow volunteers to learn by observation and practice.

Ideal volunteers will have some experience with personal growth and healing. Volunteers must be 21+ and able to pass a security clearance (CORI).

Jericho Circle runs all-gender emotional healing circles inside MCI-Norfolk (MA), MCI-Framingham (Women's, MA), FMC Devens (MA), Maine State Prison (ME), and Carl Robinson Correctional Institution (CT). Healing circles for returning citizens are remote or in Greater Boston. Times for the circles in each location vary.
