Tutors

Cambridge Community Learning Center

Description

Tutors for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) or HSE (High School Equivalency/GED) programs are paired with one or two Community Learning Center students in need of individualized support. Tutors and their students meet weekly for about 1.5 hours.

Tutors and tutees usually meet weekly for one hour, either in-person at the CLC, at a public location in the community, or on Zoom. All volunteers must attend a training session and be willing to commit to a consistent schedule. Most tutors will support their students in learning English or improving their reading, writing, or math skills.
