Reading Buddies volunteers are paired with first-, second-, or third-graders to forge a love of reading through the read-aloud experience. During weekly or bi-weekly sessions, students benefit from building a relationship with their adult buddy, who dedicates time and energy to helping them explore, discuss, and enjoy a variety of books during class. 

Reading Buddies is a program at Kennedy-Longfellow School and Fletcher Maynard Academy and takes place during the school day. Contact CSV for specific days and times.

 

CSV manages over a dozen programs for students in every Cambridge public school at every grade level. Please complete CSV's online volunteer application so that their staff can answer your questions regarding where they may have openings for volunteers. An orientation, individual placement meeting, and a CORI check are required.
