De Novo is seeking bilingual volunteers to assist legal staff serving limited English clients. 

Languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, Luganda, Quechua and other Central American Indigenous languages. De Novo will also accept volunteers who speak any other languages that may be useful to their future clients.

Native speakers or bi-lingual proficiency is required and being aware of their clients' cultural background is helpful. 

Volunteers will be trained in legal interpreting and translating, and need no prior legal knowledge. 

Flexible schedule! Volunteers will be added to an ‘on call’ interpreters list where  staff will reach out to them on an as needed basis. Volunteers will take on translation and interpretation tasks based on the clients’ and the volunteers' schedules.

Volunteer roles include: direct client contact, interpreting with attorneys, helping clients fill out English language forms, and translating documents.
