People Making a Difference (PMD) organizes one-time, hands-on and virtual volunteer projects for individuals, partners with businesses to promote effective community involvement, and trains and assists nonprofit leaders in quality volunteer management.

PMD’s award winning, well planned service projects engage volunteers in meaningful, hands-on work that effectively meets real needs and educates volunteers about the context of their work. Participants consistently feel energized and motivated from making a difference as PMD volunteers.

Since PMD began in 1992, it has engaged and learned from more than 10,700 volunteers and 55 for-profit and public business partners. PMD has organized and executed nearly 1,500 service projects, helping 156 partner/recipient charities, of which nearly 90% do not have staffing and other resources dedicated to working with volunteers year-round and so need assistance in order to involve volunteers effectively.
