About

As the first hospital established in Cambridge in 1886, Mt. Auburn is “dedicated to delivering healthcare services in a personable, convenient, and compassionate manner, with respect for the dignity of patients and their families.”  Part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, Mt. Auburn is also a research and teaching hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School and social service providers. 


Volunteer activities have included:

  • Customer service

  • Greeting/welcoming patients

  • Retail work

  • General patient/hospital support

  • Direct patient care (pre-med or medical students only)

  • Hospice care (following specialized training)
