The Massachusetts Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired (MABVI) helps individuals with visual impairments adjust to living with vision loss. The organization provides cost-effective, life-altering services to adults in the metro Boston area, and will match volunteers with individual clients seeking extra support.


Volunteer activities have included:

  • Reading mail, magazines, books, and paperwork

  • Clerical tasks such as writing letters, emails, and filling out forms on paper or online

  • Helping with grocery shopping or errands (volunteers use their own vehicles)

  • Serving as sighted guides for running, walking, the gym, or other fitness activities
