About
Green Cambridge serves as an umbrella organization for diverse environmental programs that create a more sustainable, connected, and equitable community. Their projects include a citywide environmental arts program for children, restoring the banks of the Little River, running a communal garden, installing rain barrels and composters, piloting urban gardens in residential and public spaces, restoring canopy coverage throughout the city, and monitoring the water quality at the Alewife Reservation.
Green Cambridge special events include celebrations for children and families, and many volunteer activities include spending time outdoors.
Volunteer activities have included:
Maintaining and monitoring Alewife Reservation and nearby sites
Working on urban demonstration farms
Planning and helping manage arts-based environmental education event
