About
Food Link is a community organization that envisions a world in which everyone has abundant nourishing food and a food system in which no edible food goes to waste. Food Link works seven days a week to direct high-quality food to people, not to waste. Food link rescues fresh, high quality, surplus food from grocery stores and wholesale suppliers and distributes the food to over 100 community organizations serving food-insecure people throughout 50 cities and towns in Greater Boston.
Food Link is looking for volunteers who are interested in food rescue and who want to make a difference in the community by reducing food waste and helping to provide food to people in need.
Food Link is powered by over 350+ dedicated volunteers who work to collect, sort, and distribute food to Food Link's community partners.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Sorting and packing food at the warehouse locations in Arlington and Roxbury
Driving for pickups in deliveries in your own car or in the Food Link van
Sorting food onsite at grocery stores.
Volunteer shifts are available 7 days a week based out of the Arlington location and Monday-Friday at the Roxbury location. You can make a regular commitment to a weekly time slot, or you can sign up for shifts via the online calendar as they work for your schedule.
