The Esplanade Association works to enhance and revitalize the Charles River Esplanade, sustaining its green spaces and building community in the park by providing educational, cultural, and recreational programs for all. The Esplanade Association has opportunities for groups and individuals throughout the year, including an award-winning corporate Volunteer Program. Working alongside Esplanade Association staff, volunteers participate in a host of projects, programs, and events. Volunteer opportunities vary by season.
Volunteer activities have included:
Horticultural tasks such as planting bulbs (spring), mulching, and raking leaves (fall)
Park beautification tasks such as sweeping pathways, picking up litter, and painting benches or fencing
Taking photos of the park to raise awareness of the Esplanade Association's work
Leading guided tours of the Charles River Esplanade as a volunteer docent
Participating in Friends Council
