Description
Volunteer at "Above the Fray? Rethinking the Supreme Court's Independence"
Tuesday, September 8, 2026 · 6:15–8:15 PM (event runs 7:00-8:00 pm)
First Parish Church, Harvard Square
Cambridge Forum is looking for a few friendly volunteers to help welcome guests to this special evening featuring Rachel A. Shelden and Peter S. Canellos, as they dig into one of the most urgent questions of the moment: has the Supreme Court ever really stood apart from politics?
What you'd be doing:
Greeting attendees warmly at the door as they arrive
Checking names against our advance registration list
Letting folks know about our newsletter and inviting them to sign up, if they're not already subscribed
Time commitment:
Arrive by 6:15 PM for a quick briefing; the shift wraps shortly after the program begins, so you're free to enjoy the rest of the evening once things settle in.
Why volunteer:
This is a great way to be part of a lively public conversation, meet fellow community members who care about ideas and civic life, and support Cambridge Forum's mission of bringing thoughtful public discourse to Harvard Square — all while getting a front-row seat (literally) to the event.
No experience necessary: just a warm smile and a bit of organizational patience during the pre-show rush. We'll have everything you need (registration list, name tags, newsletter sign-up sheet) ready to go.
Interested? Reach out to director@cambridgeforum.org to confirm your spot.
We'd love to have you with us!
