Winter/Summer Shelter Volunteers

Harvard Square Homeless Shelter (HSHS) serves local adults experiencing homelessness. They welcome individuals and small groups to volunteer alongside regular Harvard student crews during dinner, evening, overnight, or breakfast shifts in their Winter or Summer Shelter programs. Weekly volunteers are preferred but occasionally, periodic or one-time substitutes can assist, especially during school holidays. No prior experience is needed. 

Typically there are three seasonal recruitment windows in September and January for the Winter Shelter, and in June for the Summer Shelter, each with its own online signup system. For more information, please contact the HSHS Volunteer Manager at hshs.volunteer@gmail.com.
