Upper (Middle) School Tutors

Cambridge School Volunteers

Cambridge School Volunteers

Upper (Middle) School Tutors provide tutoring support to an individual student or small cohort in grades 6-8 for homework, projects, and classwork. Tutors also serve as mentors and coaches, providing social emotional support, time management and organizational skills. In collaboration with Upper School staff, CSV will identify specific areas of support and provide access to curricular content and projects. CSV's Upper School staff will also provide coaching and support to tutors/mentors throughout the school year.

No prior tutoring or teaching experience is required. CSV provides orientation and training, and volunteers are invited to attend an additional best practices training once per semester.

CSV manages over a dozen distinct programs for many hundreds of students in every Cambridge public school at every grade level. Please complete CSV's online volunteer application when you inquire, so that their staff can answer your questions regarding where they may have an opening for you at any given time. A CORI check and a short individual placement meeting are required.
