Site-Based Big Sisters meet their elementary-aged Little sisters (7-14) in schools and community centers in Cambridge and Greater Boston. School lunch times can be very stressful, and Littles can feel special and more at ease when they have their own Big over lunch. During weekly visits, Big and Little Sisters may work on projects or crafts, do sports, or read together.
A waiting list of Littles are hoping for a Big Sister to share friendship and fun times over lunch at their school, or during after-school (at school). Admissions are rolling, and Big Sisters of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Volunteers must be 18+, and must commit to visiting their Little Sister once a week (Monday-Friday during lunch or after school) for three academic semesters, excluding summer vacation, school holidays, and weekends.
