Interpreting/Translation Volunteers

De Novo

De Novo

De Novo seeks volunteers who speak Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, Luganda, Quechua, or other Central American Indigenous languages to assist legal staff serving clients with limited English proficiency. Staff will reach out to them on an as-needed basis for assistance with translation and interpretation tasks based on the clients’ and the volunteers' schedules.

Native or bilingual proficiency is required. Volunteers are typically trained in the fall on legal interpreting and translating, but other starting points may be possible. One year minimum commitment. No prior legal knowledge is required. Contact volunteer@denovo.org to learn more.
