Charles River Conservancy (CRC)
The Annual Charles River Earth Day Cleanup builds on a national effort as part of American Rivers’ National River Cleanup®, which has removed over 25 million pounds of trash from America’s waterways. Volunteers help pick up litter, remove invasive species and assist with park maintenance along all 80 miles of the Charles River. You’ll be able to participate in the cleanup of the parks, forests, and paths along the upper portion of the river in Newton, Weston, Wellesley, Dedham, or other communities. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own pair of gloves. Trash bags, picker-uppers, and other cleanup materials will be supplied to those who wish to participate. All ages welcome.
Register for the event as an individual or group at least 3 months prior to Earth Day. Keep an eye on the CRC website for registration to open, because this event fills quickly!
