Earth Day Charles River Cleanup Volunteers

Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA)

Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA)

The Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup brings together over 3,000 volunteers each April to clean up all 80 miles of the Charles River. Volunteers pick up litter, remove invasive species, and assist in park maintenance.

Individuals and families must register and complete a waiver. Volunteers may select time and day within the April dates available. The cleanup effort is held across the Greater Boston region and separate organizations manage specific locations. Those participating organizations are listed at charlesrivercleanup.org. Registration is through CRWA or the listed individual agencies.

For individuals, a small registration fee is requested, but not required. For larger groups and corporate groups, there is a fee as well as the opportunity to provide sponsorship.
