Jewish Family & Children's Service seeks volunteers to support several of their Community Housing for Adult Independence (CHAI) programs for people with disabilities, including:
CHAI Works Group Facilitators - Volunteers facilitate groups with CHAI Works program participants, sharing special interests/talents/skills and teaching participants with the assistance of program staff.
CHAI Works Weekly Program Volunteers - Support program staff and develop relationships with participants on an ongoing basis in community settings throughout Greater Boston.
CHAI Residential Activities Volunteers (Evenings) - Volunteers plan out an activity to do with residents at a JF&CS supported residence in the Greater Boston area. Activities may include (but are not limited to) game nights, crafting projects, or musical/sing-along evenings!
CHAI Residential Cooking Volunteers - Plan out simple, tasty, and healthy meals to cook and share with 7 to 14 residents and staff at a JF&CS supported residence in the Greater Boston area.
Chaverim Chaim Shabbat Meal Helpers - Support JF&CS's monthly Shabbat dinner for CHAI program participants by helping to set up and serve dinner, socializing during the event, and then assisting with clean up.
Sibshops Volunteers - Sibshops is a nationally acclaimed program of fun workshops for kids ages 8-12 who have siblings with disabilities, chronic illness, or mental health needs. Volunteers assist with activities, provide role model support, and facilitate conversations with Sibshops participants.
