Connect Advocates

SCES seeks volunteers to help older adults with behavioral health conditions regularly attend medical appointments and get the care they need. Connect Advocate volunteers provide comfort and support during medical appointments, reducing stress and anxiety, as well as assisting with related tasks such as scheduling, transportation, and taking notes to retain information as needed.

Volunteers are asked to submit notes to the Program Manager every month documenting medical appointments or visits to the client’s home. Some weekday availability is required to attend appointments, as program participants typically have 1-2 appointments per month, each averaging 3 hours in length (including transportation to and from).
