Computer Science Volunteers

Innovators for Purpose (iFp)

Innovators for Purpose (iFp)

iFp is seeking two volunteers to help high school students learn coding through making games and building websites. This is a great opportunity for tech professionals to connect with some of the most passionate high school students in Cambridge and help build their awareness of and interest in college and career pathways in Computer Science fields.

iFp is looking for volunteers who are eager to help high school students learn CS and engage in social impact work. iFp's websites are designed completely in Figma before being passed on to development. Web development is done in HTML5/CSS3/vanilla JS.  Any experience with WordPress or PHP is a plus. Games are created using the Godot Game Engine; programming is done in GDScript which is similar to Python. Experience with game development including ideation, story and character development, game mechanics, gameplay, level, and world design is a bonus.

Volunteering will take place in person at Cambridge Public Library, 449 Broadway. Volunteers are asked to commit to one 2.5-hour shift per week, either Tuesdays or Wednesdays, 4:30-7:00pm, through May 30th.
