FriendshipWorks recruits, trains, and places volunteers to support their mission of reducing social isolation, enchancing quality of life, and preserving the dignity of older adults in the Greater Boston area. FriendshipWorks matches you to a program and older adult that works with your schedule and is convenient for where you live or work.  No experience is needed and they welcome speakers of all languages, as well as BIPOC volunteers, LGBTQ+, or those who have disabilities. Volunteers can be any age for cardmaking, 15+ for Friendly Helping, and 18+ for all other programs.

Volunteer activities have included:

• Developing friendships

• Acting as a medical escort

• Assisting with general errands/household tasks

• Participating in musical performances

• Visiting a long-term care facility with a pet
