Established in 1979, Community Dispute Settlement Center (CDSC) is a mediation and training center focused on justice, dignity, and community.
CDSC provides a wide range of services to support the peaceful resolution of conflict, including but not limited to:
Free/sliding scale mediation services in the community and in local courts
Conflict coaching to disputants who are unable to complete a full mediation (for example, when the other party will not participate in mediation)
Conflict skills workshops to a wide variety of groups, to enable them to diffuse volatile situations and to better manage disagreements
Peer mediation programs in schools and youth programs, including training staff and teachers to support young people in resolving differences
CDSC also provides mediator trainings and apprenticeships; mediation to incarcerated people prior to release; and collaborate in a statewide coalition which includes legislative advocacy.
