Charles River Conservancy (CRC)

About

The Charles River Conservancy (CRC) is working to make the Charles River and its parks from Watertown to Boston Harbor a well-maintained network of natural urban landscapes that invite and engage all in their use and stewardship. A rich menu of volunteer activities draws thousands each year to participate in  year-round outdoor workdays and a multi-agency Earth Day Cleanup. CRC has long championed and enhanced public access to the river and surrounds, including swimming in the Charles and new options for pedestrians and bikers. They helped realize the Lynch Family Skate Park at North Point and Math Trails at Magazine Beach.

Volunteer activities have included:

  • Year-round, monthly site cleanups (early signup recommended)

  • Invasive plant removal

  • Bench and fence painting

  • Planting and maintaining garden beds

  • Mulching and raking leaves
