Transition House

As the first domestic violence shelter to open its doors on the East Coast, Transition House continues to be a vital resource for individuals and families experiencing abuse. They provide services focused on both intervention and prevention: emergency shelters, transitional housing, advocacy, support groups, counseling, and safety planning.


Volunteer activities have included:

  • Childcare

  • Tutoring ESOL students

  • Translation

  • Teaching computer skills classes

  • Hosting donation drives
