Heading Home

Heading Home provides emergency shelter, transitional, and permanent housing for extremely low-income families and individuals currently or formerly experiencing homelessness. Through their emphasis on housing plus services (which include career coaching, financial education, and matched savings opportunities), Heading Home’s clients have consistently achieved a permanently housed retention rate of over 90 percent. 

Volunteer activities have included: 

• Donating/delivering fully stocked backpacks for school-aged children 

• Collecting/creating kits for clients 

• Hosting donation drives 

• Fundraising 

• Preparing/delivering meals 

• Cleaning/maintaining common spaces at the shelter 

• Outfitting/furnishing apartments for clients
