Food for Free
Food For Free improves access to healthy food in Eastern Massachusetts by rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste and creating new distribution channels that reach underserved populations. All of the agency's diverse programs rely on volunteers to gather, pack, prepare, and deliver food.
Volunteer activities have included:
Packing groceries and produce
Repackaging prepared food
Delivering food (using a personal vehicle)
Managing volunteers
Distributing food at community sites
